Three-aisled classicism building with frontal pinnacle was built in years 1831-1833 in the middle of the village Kunratice, in the place of originally wooden church of Saint Nicholas, which was burnt in the period of Hussite riots. The village used to be without the church for many centuries, having only a chapel, or little church of Saint Joseph. In 1828, a decision of an official commission allowed the building of a new big church and provided building stones, wood and roof covering. There was a huge movement of public happiness and good-will between village inhabitants, who started to voluntarily collect and bring stones from a local fields as a material for the church basements. The building was started by a builder Georg Proksch of Záhořany in 1831 by demarcation of the church floor plan and the basement stone was brought on 8th of May a same year. The church bells chimed for the first time on 10th of October 1832 and were moved in the church from an old wooden local belfry. The church was solemnly consecrated on 20th of October 1833 by the Bishop of Litoměřice with the performance of the Cvikov sharpshooters. New organ originated in 1836 played for the first time on 17th of July same year and new crystal chandelier was acquired by a public voluntary array. Thanks to another money array there came a new tower clock, originally placed in the Tolštejn castle, from where they arrived to Kunratice through Jiřetín pod Jedlovou village. One day, it was on Sunday before the noon, when they stroke for the very first time, there was a musician band and ceremonial salvos in the front of the church. The empire-baroque altar with the painting The Holy Cross Exaltation and statues of the Saint Peter and Paul were acquired in 1862 and stays in the same shape and color until these days. New church clock were made in 1882, new monstrance and new Bethlehem was acquired from the public array.
The church has 43,5 meters length, 17 meters width, the church tower height is 32,5 meters. The church interiors are shined by seven broad arched windows and there is originally gold inscription on a black base: “Whatever built by the Christianity and devotion, let it be patronized by our descendants as a memorial of honour.1893”. There are 37 wooden stairs coming up from an entrance hall up to the choir and to four side empires. All holy paintings in the church were acquired in 1866 from public array.
The Big Bell was requisitioned for the First World war purposes in 1916 and in 1921 it was replaced with a new bell, named Maria.
The Saint Cross Elevation church slopes under the jurisdiction of the Greek-Catholic parish in Cvikov and from 1965 it is a state-protected monument.
