Jiří Pačinek and René Roubíček
"René Roubíček is a true legend of modern Czech and of the global glass scene, and I am proud to have had the opportunity of working for him.
As with Bořek Šípek I met René Roubíček when I was a glass novice.
He was working at the old Hantych glassworks in Nový Bor,
with famous glassmasters such as Rozinek and Novotný,one of my other glass icons.
Looking back now,I realize the fortune and luck of finding myself into this triangle : Roubíček - Šípek - Novotný,
for these three glass personalities have positively influenced, educated and inspired me."

Jiří Pačinek and Bořek Šípek
“ It was in 1992 that I met Bořek Šípek for the first time.
He introduced me to the AJETO glassworks in Nový Bor,
where I was hired as an unknown and inexperienced glassmaker.
My small knowledge of glass at that time allowed me only to hold the glass pipe, heat the glass with the torch and help the best glassmasters AJETO had to offer with the making of Šípek´s famous and admirable glass objects.
I barely dreamed of working for Šípek myself...
It is not only an understanding of glass that binds me to Bořek,but also the many other important things I learnt from him..."

Jiří Pačinek and Petr Novotný
"Actually,I have never made a glass object for Petr Novotný.
As one of the world´s best glassmasters he has always done it himself, with me there only to assist him.
My relation to Petr is a special and unique one.In fact I would call him a kind of "glass father",who taught me all I know about this form of art - from the basic principles of glassmaking through to its finesses.
He is an icon worthy of following - mainly for his diligence and courage, which has made him so famous and important in the world of glass."
